The Folsom Lake College women's basketball team had not played in a game in two weeks prior to Thursday night's contest in the opening round of the Comet Classic Tournament at Contra Costa College. The layoff was evident as the Falcons struggled to find their shooting touch on their way to a 71-62 loss to host Contra Costa. Despite the shooting troubles, the Falcons stayed close and trailed by just six points at halftime (37-31). But too many turnovers and poor rebounding prevented them from closing the gap in the second half as the Comets pulled away for the win. Alma Perez led the Falcons in scoring with 17 points, while Faith Wilson and Angelina Contreras added 11 and 10 points, respectively. The Falcons return to the court on Friday afternoon to play College of the Canyons at 3:00 pm in a consolation bracket game.
