Falcons struggle with CRC again

For whatever reason, the CRC Hawks seemed to have the Falcons' number in 2019;  in October, the Hawks came to FLC and won 2-0.  On Friday night, the Hawks and Falcons played to a 0-0 tie at CRC.  The Falcons certainly had their chances in this one, including a near miss on a header by Emily Doty in the 75th minute, and a Mikayla Smith shot that was just wide in the 80th minute.  Goalkeeper Hunter Casperson earned yet another shutout with two impressive saves to preserve the tie.

The Falcons finished third in the ultra-competitive Big 8 at 9-4-3, behind champion Delta and second place Sierra.

The Falcons (seeded #6 with a 14-4-4 overall record) will host Bay Valley Conference champion Los Medanos (17-4-1 and seeded #11) at 7:00 pm on Saturday night at Falcon Stadium in the opening round of the CCCAA state playoffs.
