Folsom Lake College Sweeps Victor Valley College Behind Dominant Pitching and Explosive Bats, Improve to 7–1

FOLSOM — The Falcons are rolling early this season.

Behind lockdown pitching, relentless base running, and a lineup that produced runs in bunches, Folsom Lake completed a convincing three-game home sweep of Victor Valley this weekend, outscoring the Rams 36–10 and improving to 7–1 overall.

Each game told a slightly different story — a shutout clinic, a steady offensive build, and finally a full-on offensive eruption — but the result was the same: Falcon control from first pitch to final out.

Game 1 – Falcons 9, Rams 0

Pitching masterpiece sets the tone

Folsom Lake opened the series with a dominant performance on the mound, combining for a two-hit shutout with 17 strikeouts.

Starter Keisen Hayden was electric, punching out 12 hitters in 4.2 innings while allowing just one hit. The bullpen trio of Ryder Celenza, Andrew Balentine, and Colin Huston slammed the door the rest of the way.

Offensively, the Falcons scored early and often:

Folsom Lake swiped 10 stolen bases and capitalized on three Victor Valley errors to steadily stretch the lead inning by inning.

By the seventh, it was 9–0 — and the Rams never threatened.

Game 2 – Falcons 10, Rams 5

Big second inning breaks it open

Game two featured a little more resistance, but one explosive frame made the difference.

After Victor Valley tied things early, the Falcons erupted for four runs in the second inning and never looked back.

On the mound, Jake McKowen delivered another strong start, striking out nine over five innings to earn the win.

Even when the Rams scratched across late runs, the Falcons' deep bullpen limited the damage and secured the victory.

Game 3 – Falcons 17, Rams 5

Offensive explosion caps the sweep

Saturday's finale turned into a showcase.

Folsom Lake piled up 19 hits and scored 10 runs in the first two innings alone, overwhelming Victor Valley before they could settle in.

Nearly everyone in the lineup joined the hit parade:

Six different Falcons recorded RBIs as the team scored in six separate innings.

Gavin McLendon highlighted the pitching staff with six strikeouts in four innings, helping keep the Rams quiet until the game was well out of reach.

Totals (3 games):

The Takeaway

Through eight games, Folsom Lake looks balanced, confident, and relentless. The pitching staff is missing bats at a high rate, the defense is tightening up, and the offense is capable of crooked numbers at any moment.

If this series is any indication, the Falcons aren't just winning — they're dictating games.

And at 7–1, they're only getting started.
