Bio
Jon Peters returns to Folsom for his 2nd consecutive year and 9th overall. JP began his playing career at Chino High School in Chino, California, where the program compiled a 75–13 record and reached the CIF Southern Section Division I semifinals in both 2006 and 2007. After high school, JP attended Mt. San Antonio College, helping lead the Mounties to a Super Regional appearance in 2009 while earning All-Conference honors during one of the program’s most successful seasons of the decade (31–18).
JP then transferred to NCAA Division II powerhouse Chico State, competing from 2011–2013. After missing the postseason in 2011, a summer league knee injury resulted in season-ending surgery and a medical redshirt during Chico State’s 2012 Division II College World Series run. He returned for his senior season in 2013 and helped the Wildcats reach the West Region Championship, finishing one win short of a second consecutive College World Series appearance.
As well as coaching at FLC in 2015, he also joined the Lincoln Potters, a summer collegiate program competing in the West Coast League and California Collegiate League (CCL). JP served as an Assistant Coach (2015–2019), Associate Head Coach (2019–2022), and Head Coach (2022–2023). In 2023, he was named the CCL North All-Star Team Head Coach.
Throughout his coaching career, JP has helped hundreds of athletes advance to the collegiate level and has coached more than 25 players who have been selected in the MLB Draft or signed professional free-agent contracts, including first-round draft picks.
JP currently resides in Folsom, California with his fiancé Chelsea, where he owns and operates a local youth baseball academy and indoor sports training facility.
