Falcons roll in season-opener!

Season three of FLC women's basketball got off to a roaring start on Thursday afternoon as the Falcons steamrolled Los Medanos, 85-34, in the opening round of the Cosumnes River Invitational Tournament.  The Falcons jumped out to a 20 point lead in the first quarter (25-5), then continued to extend the lead with 26 points in the second quarter for a 51-16 halftime margin.  Three starters - Valerie Hutton, Dejanet Porter, and Shaina Shah, along with reserve Taylor Sexton - scored in double figures for the Falcons, led by Sexton's 27 points.  Hutton recorded a double-double with 21 points and 19 rebounds, while Mo Peters pulled down 13 rebounds.

The Falcons will next face perennial state finalist LA Trade Tech, a 14-point opening round winner over American River, on Friday afternoon.
