No. 3 in the Nation in Assists, No. 5 in Shooting: Falcons Top Sequoias 80–63
The Folsom Lake College women's basketball team put together a complete performance Friday night, pulling away for an 80–63 home victory over Sequoias behind efficient shooting, balanced scoring, and crisp ball movement.
Folsom Lake set the tone early, opening the game with an 18–11 first quarter and widening the gap before halftime with a strong 26-point second period. The Falcons went into the break firmly in control and never looked back, matching Sequoias' energy in the second half while continuing to execute on both ends of the floor.
Leading the way was Jada Tupou, who delivered a dominant performance with 29 points on an ultra-efficient 14-of-20 shooting, adding seven rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Tupou's ability to score in rhythm anchored an offense that flowed smoothly all night.
The Falcons' depth and unselfish play were on full display. Nyah Fortune stuffed the stat sheet with nine points and a team-high seven assists, while Jasmine Clee added 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting. Ursula Chen and Nyah Fortune combined to knock down six three-pointers, stretching the defense and opening lanes inside. Off the bench, Kelis Powell chipped in eight points and four assists, and Emily Bowman was perfect from the floor, scoring six points in limited minutes.
As a team, Folsom Lake shot an impressive 53.8% from the field and tallied 26 assists on 35 made baskets, a stat line that mirrors their season-long identity. On the national stage, the Falcons continue to shine—ranking 3rd in the nation in assists per game (22.3) and 5th in field goal percentage (49.2%) out of 456 teams.
Friday's win was another clear example of why the Falcons are one of the most efficient and connected teams in the country. With elite ball movement, scoring balance, and relentless energy, Folsom Lake continues to set the standard as the season rolls on.
