Falcons Lock Down Santa Rosa with Dominant Second-Half Defense

The Folsom Lake Falcons put together a complete road performance Tuesday night, pulling away in the second half to earn a 56–43 win over Santa Rosa on January 6. After a competitive first half, the Falcons' defense took over and set the tone for a convincing conference victory.

Folsom Lake trailed by four at the end of the first quarter and went into halftime down 28–24, but everything changed after the break. The Falcons allowed just four points in the entire third quarter, flipping the momentum with suffocating on-ball pressure and disciplined team defense. That defensive surge fueled a 20–4 run in the third, giving Folsom Lake a commanding lead they would not relinquish.

Jasmine Clee led the Falcons offensively with 13 points on 6-of-11 shooting, providing a steady scoring presence when the team needed it most. Lexi Peters and Nyah Fortune each added 8 points, while Ava Schraeder chipped in 8 points and 4 assists off the bench to spark the offense.

Folsom Lake controlled the glass, outrebounding Santa Rosa 39–34, and shared the ball effectively with 17 assists on 24 made field goals. Jada Tupou anchored the interior with 9 rebounds, while the Falcons' activity on defense resulted in 11 steals, consistently disrupting Santa Rosa's offensive rhythm.

Santa Rosa was held to just 32.8% shooting from the field and 12.5% from three-point range, a testament to the Falcons' defensive discipline and communication.

With balanced scoring, relentless defense, and poise on the road, the Falcons sent a clear message in conference play. Folsom Lake's ability to clamp down defensively and finish strong continues to define a team that is hitting its stride at the right time.
