Falcons Light It Up: Folsom Lake Women Roll Past Cosumnes River, Take Down Santa Rosa in Statement Week

The Folsom Lake College Falcons opened the week with a dominant road performance, overwhelming the Cosumnes River College Hawks from the opening tip in a commanding 77–38 victory.

Folsom Lake set the tone immediately, holding the Hawks to just seven points in both the first and second quarters. The Falcons' defensive pressure fueled everything — contesting shots, jumping passing lanes, and turning stops into easy transition baskets.

Offensively, the Falcons were clicking. Jada Tupou delivered one of the most efficient outings of the season, pouring in 26 points on 13-of-14 shooting, while adding five rebounds, four assists, and three steals. Ursula Chen added 14 points, and Lexi Peters and Emily Bowman helped stretch the floor with timely buckets.

The ball movement was especially impressive, with Folsom Lake totaling 30 assists on 33 made field goals. The Falcons also controlled the glass, 41–24, and held Cosumnes River to just 23.6% shooting, showcasing a complete team effort on both ends.

Falcons 84, Santa Rosa 67

Back home, the Falcons kept the momentum rolling with another strong performance, defeating the Santa Rosa Junior College Bear Cubs 84–67 in front of the home crowd.

After a tight first quarter, Folsom Lake exploded in the middle frames, outscoring Santa Rosa 54–31 across the second and third quarters to seize control.

The backcourt led the charge.

Lexi Peters was electric, scoring 25 points and knocking down four three-pointers. Nyah Fortune followed with 18 points, drilling five from deep while dishing out seven assists. Tupou added 17 points and five steals, continuing her strong week, while Chen chipped in eight efficient points.

As a team, the Falcons shot a blistering 53.8% from three-point range (14-of-26) and assisted on 23 baskets, demonstrating their trademark unselfish style and offensive rhythm.

Statement Week for the Falcons

Across the two games, Folsom Lake outscored opponents 161–105, showcased depth throughout the roster, and combined lockdown defense with explosive shooting. Whether it was Tupou's efficiency inside, Peters' perimeter scoring, or Fortune's playmaking, contributions came from everywhere.

With balanced scoring, defensive intensity, and strong team chemistry, the Falcons continue to build momentum at the perfect time as conference play heats up.

The message is clear: when the Falcons share the ball and defend with energy, they're tough to stop.
