Falcons Dominate Early, Advance to Third Round with 63–42 Win
The Folsom Lake College women's basketball team delivered a complete performance inside Falcon Gym on February 28, defeating Los Medanos College 63–42 to advance to the Third Round of postseason play.
The Falcons set the tone immediately. An 18–2 first-quarter surge established control early and allowed Folsom Lake to dictate tempo from the opening possession. Defensive pressure disrupted rhythm throughout the night, as Los Medanos was held to just 22 percent shooting and 13 made field goals.
Folsom Lake remained composed on both ends of the floor, pairing disciplined half-court defense with efficient offensive execution. Jada Tupou led the way with 14 points on 7-of-10 shooting, attacking decisively and finishing around the rim. Nyah Fortune turned in a strong all-around performance with 13 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists, impacting the game in every phase. Lexi Peters added seven rebounds as the Falcons controlled the glass with a 48–33 advantage.
The Falcons shot 43.5 percent from the field and knocked down nine three-pointers, stretching the defense and maintaining separation throughout the contest. When Los Medanos showed energy in the third quarter, Folsom Lake responded with timely stops and balanced scoring to protect the lead.
Backed by a strong home crowd, the Falcons once again displayed the toughness and focus that have defined their postseason run.
Now, the Big 8 Champions return home with momentum, confidence, and another opportunity in front of their fans. Folsom Lake will host San Francisco City College on Saturday, March 7, in Falcon Gym with a spot in the next round on the line.
See you Saturday night and Go FALCONS!
