In a match they were expecting to win, the Falcons came home from Diablo Valley on Friday night with a disappointing 1-1 tie. Freshman Michaela Clark scored the lone Falcon goal - her 22nd of the season – and Emma Thompson provided the assist, her state-leading 16th of the season, in the 20th minute of play to put Falcons ahead 1-0. The lead would last just 15 minutes, though, as the Vikings responded with the tying goal in the 35th minute. When the two teams met at FLC a month ago, the Falcons scored three second-half goals to win 4-1. This time there would be no second-half magic as both teams went scoreless over the final 55 minutes. The shocking tie (DVC is just 2-12-3) leaves the Falcons in 3rd place in the Big 8 at 8-3-2 (13-3-3 overall) with three games to play. They will host fourth-place American River (7-4-1) on Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 pm.
Falcons can only muster a tie at DVC
