The Folsom Lake College Falcons stayed unbeaten Tuesday afternoon, defeating Lake Tahoe 2–0 behind a fast start and another commanding defensive effort. With the win, the Falcons improved to 7–0–0 on the season.
The Falcons wasted little time getting on the board. In the 21st minute, Skylar Ranesses buried a shot inside the box after a perfectly timed feed from Madi Stroh, putting Folsom Lake up 1–0. Just six minutes later, Kylie Deome doubled the lead, finishing a clever setup from Lucy Miller to make it 2–0.
After that, it was the Falcons' defense that took over. Folsom Lake held Lake Tahoe to just one total shot, which came in the second half, while the back line — anchored by Ashleigh Lecitona and Josie Reynolds — turned away any potential threats. Goalkeeper Bitsy Wagner recorded the shutout with one save, marking another clean sheet for the Falcons this season.
On the offensive side, Folsom Lake tallied seven shots on goal from six different players, showing their depth and versatility in attack. Ranesses and Deome grabbed the headlines with their goals, but the build-up play from the midfield and the creativity of Stroh and Miller proved just as crucial.
Lake Tahoe's goalkeeper Molly Adams faced relentless pressure, stopping five shots, but her efforts weren't enough to slow down a Falcons team that has outscored opponents 21–3 this season.
With the victory, the Falcons extended their perfect start to seven straight wins — a statement to the rest of the conference that Folsom Lake is a team to beat in 2025.
Next up, the Falcons continue their homestand as they look to build on their momentum and keep their undefeated run alive.
