Falcons Fly High on Youth Soccer Night, Stay Perfect with 6–0 Win

FOLSOM, Calif. — The energy was electric at Falcon Field on Friday night as the stands filled with families, kids in jerseys, and a community excited to celebrate Youth Soccer Night. And the Folsom Lake women's soccer team gave them plenty to cheer about, rolling to a 6–0 victory over West Valley to remain unbeaten at 9-0-0 on the season.

From the opening whistle, the Falcons set the tone with relentless pressure and crisp passing. The breakthrough came in the 20th minute when Kylie Deome, assisted by Rachael George, slotted home the first goal of the evening. Moments later, Skylar Ranesses doubled the lead off a perfectly placed ball from Madi Stroh, and Alivia Ivey added a third just before the half to make it 3–0.

The second half only amplified the Falcons' dominance. Maryn Rogers struck early to extend the advantage, while Libby Portillo converted a setup from Ivey in the 81st minute. With the crowd still buzzing, Mia Degrazio put the finishing touch on the night's scoring, hammering home the sixth goal with just two minutes left in regulation.

The Falcons racked up 22 total shots, with 19 on target, forcing West Valley goalkeeper Soleana Chavez into a busy night where she tallied 13 saves. Folsom Lake's defense, meanwhile, was impenetrable, holding West Valley without a single shot attempt for the full 90 minutes.

But the night was about more than the scoreboard. At halftime, the field was alive with youth players kicking balls, laughing, and taking part in a special penalty-kick shootout that had the stands roaring with approval. It was the perfect blend of competitive college soccer and community fun, a true showcase of the sport's future and present.

"This was a special night," said the Falcons' coaching staff. "Our players fed off the crowd, and it was great to see so many young athletes out here inspired by the game. Wins like this are great, but sharing the love of soccer with the community makes it even better."

With the 6–0 win, the Falcons not only protected their perfect record but also showed the depth of their roster and the strength of their team culture. For the kids watching in the stands, it was a glimpse of what's possible when teamwork, energy, and passion come together under the lights.
