Falcons Grind Out Fierce 3–0 Victory to Advance to Regional Final vs. Santa Rosa
In a match defined by intensity, physical battles, and momentum-shifting emotion, the undefeated Folsom Lake Falcons powered past Evergreen Valley 3–0 on Tuesday afternoon to earn their spot in the Regional Final. With the holiday break looming and a championship opportunity on the other side, the Falcons rose to the moment—remaining composed through chaos and proving why they stand at 21-0-2.
The match turned fiery early. A double red-card sequence in the 17th minute sent both teams into scramble mode, opening up space and raising the stakes. From that moment on, every challenge had weight, every clearance carried urgency, and every possession was contested with playoff-level grit.
But as they've done all season, Folsom Lake found a way to take control.
The breakthrough came in the 11th minute when Madi Stroh struck the opener, finishing a setup from Skylar Ranesses. Stroh's early goal set the tone for the Falcons and foreshadowed her standout performance, as she played a role in all three scoring sequences.
The second half saw the Falcons' pressure finally break Evergreen Valley's defensive shape. In the 61st minute, Kamryn Lee converted a clean feed from Stroh, doubling the lead and shifting the match firmly in the home team's hands. As Evergreen Valley grew frustrated and the physicality mounted, Folsom Lake stayed disciplined and methodical, continuing to dictate tempo despite being down a player for most of the match.
Folsom's finishing touch came late, in the 89th minute, when Mia Degrazio buried a pass from—who else—Stroh, sealing the 3–0 victory and punching the Falcons' ticket to the Regional Final.
Goalkeeper Hailey Yates anchored the back line with two saves and her seventh shutout of the season, calmly managing the few chances Evergreen Valley could muster. The Falcons' defense allowed just three total shots, maintaining structure even after the early red card.
With the win, Folsom Lake advances to face perennial powerhouse Santa Rosa on Saturday, November 22 at 2pm, in what promises to be one of the most anticipated matchups of the postseason. Emotions will be high, the stakes even higher—and if Tuesday's performance proved anything, it's that the Falcons are more than ready for the moment.
